Waterford Farms is a Calgary-based aquaculture startup focused on the production and sales of live and fresh Pacific whiteleg shrimp. The business was started with the idea of raising high-quality shrimp locally in a sustainable manner using innovative clear-water recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS). Through the use of RAS, Waterford Farms is able to provide local distributors with high-quality, fresh shrimp, 365 days a year. The shrimp are grown without the use of antibiotics, hormones or pesticides. Waterford Farms' products are guaranteed to be consistently healthy and delicious. Waterford Farms recognizes that the international shrimp market has some environmental and human rights issues to resolve and created Shrimply as a solution. Shrimply centers around the local production of fresh, high-quality shrimp and the protection oceans and people in the process. The business' team of aquaculture experts, sustainability professionals, and advanced water system engineers are helping to redefine what sustainability and quality can look like for the food production process, with a focus on sound environmental practices and human respect.
