For over 30 years, Northern Wind has been a leading global seafood resource committed to continually providing high standards in customer satisfaction, quality, food safety and innovation.  Northern Wind is a direct off-loader, processor, and distributor of fresh and frozen scallops, and supplies additional seafood products including monkfish, lobster, and tuna. Northern Wind has also developed some of its own brands such as Five Star Premium, Mariner’s Choice, and the value-added product line, Bon Cuisine.

The company is committed to protecting ocean resources by procuring them responsibly. Its long-standing relationships with direct sources provide the company with the ability to ensure sustainable practices. A majority of Northern Wind’s scallops come from the United States North Atlantic Coast Fishery – a protected resource that is managed and monitored by the US government. Its scallop supply boats are monitored by a days-at-sea management system, by being assigned a specific number of fishing days each year in open and protected areas to reduce overfishing. The company also continues to work with scallop boat owners to improve harvesting, shucking, and cleaning techniques.  In addition, Northern Wind’s facilities encompass two waterfront locations (150,000 square feet in total) that are GFSI-BRC, HACCP, MSC, and Grade A-certified.
